Managing Principal & Zoo Keeper
Mike has 20 years of brand, marketing and internal engagement experience with B2B and health care companies. While based in Brussels, New York and Toronto, he has led and delivered programs in over 33 countries. He enjoys embracing and cutting through complexity to deliver results that make marketers proud and salespeople happy.
Mike’s clients include Fortune 500 and mid-sized companies in the B2B technology, real estate, consulting, accounting, financial, legal, and life sciences industries.
Prior to founding deecipher in 2007, Mike was a senior in-house marketing and sales support leader, which included roles as Head of Global, US and Europe/Asia marketing with Deloitte Consulting and BearingPoint, VP Global Marketing at MDS Inc., and Chief Marketing Officer at McCarthy Tétrault.
Mike’s career began at an early age with 2 years in the army and then 10 years as a naval officer, a fact that prompted a new staff member to wonder aloud “Why can’t he navigate on land worth a damn?”
Mike holds a Bachelor of Political Science from Carleton University, competes aggressively for front garden awards and restores 70’s sports cars.

Principal | Digital Strategy
Jason brings 12 years of international experience in interactive marketing and large web application development to his role at deecipher. He also has extensive experience in vendor management and IT-related project management, and has led both agency and in-house teams on a wide variety of B2B and B2C IT projects.
Jason has worked in a number of project management, business development, and interactive marketing roles, both in Canada and within emerging markets such as China and the UAE. As Senior Project Manager at Tejari, the leading B2B marketplace launched by the Government of Dubai, Jason worked with government and corporate partners to develop and launch next-generation online B2B trading portals. He was also involved in developing strategic marketing initiatives for Tejari’s regional and global operations, with a focus on brand management, advertising, and online marketing.
Prior to joining Tejari, Jason was a partner and co-founder of Radiant Core, an award-winning, Toronto-based interactive agency that delivered custom web applications for clients including the Mozilla Foundation, Symantec and Brookfield Homes.
Jason holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computing and Information Sciences from the University of Toronto and a post-graduate diploma in Interactive Software Development from Humber College.

For 16 years Asaph has been using his advanced research and analytical skills to help enable clients to make better business decisions.
His client engagements primarily focus on the life sciences, financial and professional services, technology and real estate industries. He previously held client-side roles with Aventis, Ortho Biotech and Janssen-Ortho, Desjardins Securities and McCarthy Tétrault. He has a MBA from McGill University and originally started his career in the air force, where he did not earn any Aeroplan points.
A client best summed up Asaph in this quote: “Give him an hour and access to a computer and this guy will discover the meaning of life and tell you where Elvis is hiding.”

Creative Director
James has more than 20 years experience creating work across print, digital, social and broadcast media. Committed to the notion that the idea drives everything, James believes you have to earn your client’s business.
An original partner in a boutique design and branding agency that garnered international awards and clients, James sold his interest in the firm and worked at various national ad agencies as a copywriter. His award-winning work on the relaunch of the Jeep Grand Cherokee earned him a promotion to the youngest national creative director in the Campbell Mithun Esty Worldwide network. James has also worked on campaigns for B2B clients Spar Aerospace, Rolls Royce Engines, Texaco Fuel, Mitel and 3M, as well as for leading consumer brands such as Canadian Club, Thrifty Car Rental, Borden Catelli, Longines and Hitachi.
James has written or directed more than 200 television commercials for clients such as Honda, Wal-Mart, Sony, Nabisco and Nickelodeon. His documentary films have found him, among other places, riding with the Hell’s Angels, hunting Somali pirates, living with the Inuit, mining in the Andes, touring with Black Sabbath and tagging polar bears.

Associate Director & Lead Writer
Sarah is deecipher’s communications specialist, helping our clients clearly and effectively communicate ideas and messages to a myriad of stakeholders. Being fluent in French, she also delivers English communications strategies to Quebec-based clients such as Bronswerk and LEM Technologies, through our partner eau3.
A former journalist, Sarah specialized in high-technology reporting with Plesman Publications early in her career. She then gained significant experience on the agency side as an Account Director at Argyle Rowland Worldwide, creating marketing and communications strategies and leading implementation activities for a wide variety of clients.
Sarah’s past client work includes Investor’s Group, Moen Inc., Aetna, Soya World (maker of So Good ®), Traditional Medicinals, Government of Norway, Canadian Association of Financial Planners, and a number of high-profile personalities.
Sarah earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree at Carleton University and lives in Toronto. She has been known to chase with a large stick anyone who uses bad grammar.

Account Manager
Jessica began her career on the creative side of the advertising business, and takes a creative approach to navigating her clients’ challenges. She has a well-honed ability to manage complex internal processes and consistently deliver results for her clients.
Prior to joining deecipher, Jessica worked with a varied range of clients on branding, marketing and communications consulting projects in real estate, beauty, education, music, and events. She has strong ties to the real estate development sector, having spent a number of years specializing in marketing for the new home and condo market with leading developers like Tribute Communities, Brookfield Homes and UrbanCorp.
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce from the University of Toronto, as well as a Bachelor of Journalism and MBA in Marketing from Ryerson University. She also briefly attended army training, but left after seeing the living conditions.

Art Director
As deecipher’s art director, Tyler leads all print and digital design. He is also a top notch illustrator with extensive design experience in the health care, real estate, legal, entertainment, retail and technology sectors.
Prior to deecipher, he worked at Universal Music where he created microsites and online advertising for international artists like Bon Jovi, Hedley, Kayne West and Lady Gaga. As a designer at Vistek, he was responsible for the design and execution of in-store marketing projects nationwide.
A graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design, Tyler is the proud owner of an extensive Star Wars action figure collection, currently residing in his mom’s basement (the collection of course, not Tyler…).

Interactive Designer / Developer
Michael is deecipher’s Interactive Designer and Developer. Creative and driven, Michael has a passion for all forms of design. His designs have garnered attention from companies such as Umbra, Teknion, and Safety First, and his work has been displayed at the Toronto Design Exchange.
Prior to deecipher, Michael was partner and co-founder of Vekya, a small marketing and communications firm that focused on helping businesses develop their brands and presence in the marketplace. Projects included delivering unique advertising and web solutions for small businesses, to working on web interface projects for organizations such as Osgoode Hall Law School.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Applied Technology specializing in Industrial Design from the Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. His newfound love is climbing, but you can also find him playing and making music, riding his motorcycle, or cooking some killer Italian dishes.
